Parc animalier d’Introd is the first and only wildlife park in the Aosta Valley, located in the municipality of Introd at an altitude of 880 m.
The idea of creating a wildlife park was born in 2005 by the association of wood craftsmen “Les Amis du bois di Introd,” with the aim of developing the municipal tourist offer.
The park covers a natural area of about 40,000 square meters where it is possible to observe the main animals living in the mountain habitat of the region such as ibex, chamois, various species of birds of prey, marmot, fox, deer, and hedgehogs.
Some of the animals within the park come from Italian and European zoos so they are already born and raised in captivity, while others come from rescue centers and would no longer be able to survive in the wild.
The Park therefore takes good care of them and indeed we found well-kept and healthy animals and, to our daughter’s delight, we even witnessed them being fed! (Around 11 a.m.).
Below you will find all the information you need to organize a visit to the Parc Animalier d’Introd with your children.

Parc Animalier of Introd: route
Inside, the path winds uphill on marked trails and is accompanied by panels offering information on the various plant and animal species encountered during the visit.
The walk in the park is free and does not involve the use of guides.
Very interesting is the Footprint Trail where casts of the footprints of various animals with their characteristics are shown.
The Park is not very large, in an hour and a half at most you can get around everything.
It is also accessible with strollers but in our opinion it is not very easy, better to put the child in a backpack or baby carrier.
Sneakers or even better hiking shoes are recommended.
In our opinion it is a wonderful experience for children because it allows them to really see within inches of animals that one is. not always lucky enough to encounter while hiking in the mountains.

Parc Animalier of Introd: where to eat
Near the park is Maison Argentier: in warm weather you can have lunch in the garden among the fruit trees with charcuterie and cheese boards, sandwiches, salads.
The blueberries with cream from their own production are excellent. It also has a small playroom for children. Recommended!
