The Prehistoric Park is located in Rivolta d’Adda, in the province of Cremona, and is situated in a huge natural area of over one hundred hectares.

Inside the park, there is a pedestrian path along which it is possible to admire life-size reconstructions of various species such as dinosaurs, mammals and hominids belonging to the prehistoric era.

The itinerary is well detailed, the statues are very intriguing for children but also for adults; it is a very well-kept park and it is really pleasant to take a walk in the middle of the greenery.

Along the route, there is also an area with protected fauna such as deer, goats, sheep, donkeys, horses, and a play area for children to play in.

There is also a small train that takes you around the park in about half an hour and at a cost of 3 euros.

Below is all the information you need to organise your visit to the Park of Prehistory at Rivolta d’Adda.

Prehistoric Park in Rivolta d’Adda: route

The route inside the Prehistoric Park runs for 4 km along which there are around 50 life-size reconstructions of various prehistoric species including fish, amphibians, archaic reptiles, dinosaurs, mammals and primitive man.

There are also reproductions of moments in the life of prehistoric man.

It is a loop footpath on a road that is also convenient for pushchairs.

There are several information signs telling the story of each individual protagonist.

Along the route, there is also a labyrinth consisting of hedges about 1.80 metres high (it reminded us a lot of the labyrinth inside the Pinocchio Park in Collodi).

At the end of the path, there is a Palaeontological Museum in which the friendly dinosaur palaeontologist Darwin traces the history of evolution through exhibits and explanatory panels.

It is a very well-kept park, we liked it a lot! Our only advice, if you go in midsummer, is to bring a hat and sunscreen because it is not very shady.
