Illusions Exhibition Genoa

Table of Contents

The Exhibition of Illusions is a fun exhibition dedicated to the world of optical illusions, where what is believed to be true, doesn’t actually exist!

After a tour in Turin and Florence, the Exhibition of Illusions has also arrived in Genoa so we decided to go and see what it was all about.

Let’s see below what to expect, what age is recommended and all the other information you need to organise your visit.

Exhibition of Illusions: what it is about

The Illusions Exhibition is an interactive exhibition that challenges the senses and the mind through optical and perceptual illusions. You can find over 70 illusions to interact with: a journey through elements of physics, optics, psychology and art.

The great thing is that you are an active participant in the experience, you look but you can also touch, enter the set, experiment, have your photograph taken… You experience everything first-hand.

You can find drawings that change depending on how you look at them, mirror games, overturned rooms, etc. It is truly an original exhibition that amazed even us adults and not just the children.

The exhibition also pays attention to environmental sustainability, and along the way you can find some tips such as the possibility or ‘illusion’ of walking 5 km every day, because if even1/10 of the Italianpopulation did the same, 5000 tonnes of CO2 could be saved. Illusion or reality?

Exhibition of Illusions: how long to stay and what age to go

The visit lasts about an hour and a half and can interest adults and children of all ages (my 3½-year-old daughter had a great time) but to understand the different mechanisms behind optical illusions, the child must be at least 7/8 years old.

There is also a space dedicated to virtual reality (to be paid for separately), which they very honestly did not recommend to us since our girls are so young.
