Perhaps not everyone knows that Halloween has very ancient origins that can be traced back to Ireland – and not to America – although it is a very popular holiday in the USA that, in recent years, has also started to become popular in Europe.
Halloween, the scariest holiday of the year, is celebrated on the evening of 31 October to commemorate Saints’ Day.
Its origins date back to Celtic customs but today Halloween has become a commercial holiday in its own right and in this article you can find some ideas on where to celebrate it with your children.
Celebrating Halloween 2023 in an amusement park
A slightly different and certainly fun idea to celebrate Halloween with your children could be to go to an amusement park.
There are many of them scattered around Italy , and many of them offer special events, lasting several weeks, precisely on the occasion of the most monstrous festival of the year. Let’s see what they are.
Halloween 2023 in Leolandia
Leolandia is the amusement park in Capriate San Gervasio suitable for children from 2/2 years up to 10 years of age.
From 22 September to 5 November 2023, the HalLEOween is back with themed displays, magic shows, monster parades, bewitched make-up artists, and much more.
On 31 October, the park is open until 9.30 pm.
Tickets can be purchased online on the official website and admission is charged for children over 90 cm tall.

Halloween 2023 at Zoom
Zoom is an animal park located in Cumiana, in the province of Turin.
From 7 October to 5 November, Halloween returns to Zoom with entertainment, shows, themed dinners and lots of activities for children such as trick-or-treating and pumpkin painting.
What’s more, if you buy your Halloween ticket online, you will be able to return to Bestial Christmas for free.

Halloween 2023 in Sunday Town
Città della Domenica is a wildlife and nature amusement park in the province of Perugia.
On 22 – 29 – 31 October and 1 November, Città della Domenica Halloween Fest returns.
On these days, children will be given a map at the entrance with which they will have to go in search of three characters: the White Skull, Count Vampire and Shining Moon.
Thanks to them, children will be able to defeat zombies and ghosts hiding inside the park.

Halloween 2023 at Gardaland
Gardaland is Italy’s largest amusement park, located in the province of Verona.
From 6 October to 5 November Gardaland Magic Halloween returns when monsters, vampires and ghosts will haunt the park.
Many events designed both for families with children at the weekend and for the most daring ones on Friday nights with Fright Fridays.
Halloween 2023 at Movieland
Just a short distance from Gardaland, in Lasize, is Movieland , the theme park dedicated to the world of cinema.
Here too, from 20 October, you can find The Halloween Park, i.e. lots of shows for adults but also for families with children such as trick-or-treating, children’s make-up, monster chefs, and a haunted maze.
Halloween 2023 at Mirabilandia
We move on to Ravenna, to the famous Mirabilandia amusement park.
From 7 October to 5 November, Mirabilandia Halloween returns with shows, horror tunnels for adults and children, and the Halloween Horror Festival open every Saturday from 7 p.m. until closing time.

Halloween 2023 at Pinocchio Park
At the Pinocchio Park in Collodi, in addition to reliving the Adventures of Pinocchio, the Gothic Carnival – Halloween for children returns from 8 October to 1 November with games and activities for children aged between 1 and 14.

Halloween 2023 at the Pistoia Zoological Garden
The Pistoia Zo ological Garden is a wonderful zoo that is home to more than 550 animals belonging to endangered species.
From 21 October to 1 November, the must-see events return to celebrate Halloween.
In the rich calendar, you will also find the Empty the Pump kin event, which means that you will have to cut out a pumpkin and empty it of its pulp and then fill it with tasty snacks to feed to the animals in the park.
